Granite House lease provides a rock for Global expansion

01 September 2019

Landmark office accommodation at Watermead Business Park has been earmarked as flagship headquarters for a multi-national innovator of payment technology and software solutions.

Leading Leicestershire commercial property specialist Andrew + Ashwell has negotiated the lease of the refurbished ground floor premises of Granite House to Global Payments, which operates across 32 countries, providing solutions for 2.5 million businesses. The company is set to move its Leicester team from the city centre this autumn.

Watermead Business Park was established by local developer Raynsway Properties to create an imposing commercial gateway to the city, opposite Watermead Country Park. It remains the only large, premium quality office development on the northern fringe of Leicester.

Prominently located next to the Bentley car showroom and overlooking the main A607 direct link to the A46, the park is ten minutes from M1 Junction 21, 15 minutes from Leicester city centre and 25 minutes from Nottingham.

Granite House was built in 2003 to a rectangular design, set around a central open courtyard and with an impressive front reception area. The Andrew and Ashwell website at www.andash.co.uk provides unique enhancement using latest state of the art technology, with drone video photography and a 360-degree tour of the remaining first floor space, comprising 23,838 sq ft.

Open plan wings enclose the unique courtyard area, providing attractive outdoor space for staff breaks. The building is designed to a high specification, with raised floors, suspended ceilings, full air conditioning and LED lighting throughout. The bespoke front reception area includes stairs and two personnel lifts. There is also extensive parking.

Mike Allwood, partner in Andrew + Ashwell said: Granite House is a high profile building offering superb accommodation for expanding companies like Global Payments to showcase their success, as well a offering fast road links to major centres of business. We wish them well in their new flagship building.”
